In a recent turn of events in the Rugby League world, three players from the Gold Coast Titans, New Zealand Warriors, and Wests Tigers have found themselves in hot water with the match review committee.
According to Zero Tackle, the incident occurred during Sunday's games, where Warriors rookie Zyon Maiu'u was sent off for a high tackle on Wests Tigers centre Declan Casey.
As a result, Maiu'u now faces a formidable four-five game suspension after being charged with a Grade 2 reckless high tackle.
However, if he accepts an early guilty plea, the suspension may be reduced to four games, yet if found guilty at the judiciary, it could escalate to five.
The other two players involved, Samuela Fainu from Wests Tigers and Klese Haas from Gold Coast Titans, are not exempt from consequences either.
Fainu has been charged with a Grade 1 careless high tackle, while Haas faces a Grade 1 contrary conduct charge.
Their punishments manifest in the form of hefty fines, ranging between $1000-1500.
