This match marked not only the Bulldogs' first victory of the season but also the announcement of the Club's Ring of Champions, which honors 19 of the greatest players to have ever worn the Bulldogs jersey, including Secretary and Chief Executive Peter Moore.

The Ring of Champions recognized notable players such as Chris Anderson, Ron Bailey, Greg Brentnall, Eddie Burns, Steve Folkes, David Gillespie, John Greaves, Les Johns, Peter Kelly, Roy Kirkaldy, Terry Lamb, Peter Moore, Chris Mortimer, Steve Mortimer, Edgar Newham, George Peponis, Henry Porter, Steve Price, Kevin Ryan, and Frank Sponberg.

In the match itself, the Bulldogs showcased a dominant performance, securing their first win of the season with standout contributions from Trent Cutler, who scored twice, along with a classic try from Willie Tonga.

Additionally, Mark O'Meley, dubbed "The Ogre," delivered a powerhouse performance that greatly aided the team's success.
