The Gold Coast Titans are celebrating the recognition of two of their players, Moeaki Fotuaika and Kaitlyn Phillips, in this year's 2023 Academic Team of the Year.
This prestigious award acknowledges the educational achievements of NRL and NRLW players off the field.
The annual Academic Team of the Year includes players from both the men's and women's competitions, aiming to inspire and empower all rugby league athletes to pursue further education.
Fotuaika, currently enrolled in a Certificate IV in Youth Work and Family Intervention, and Phillips, studying a Bachelor of Echocardiography and Cardiac Physiology after completing a Bachelor of Paramedicine, have both been honored for their commitment to off-field studies.
Fotuaika, who started his educational journey last season alongside teammate Phil Sami, believes that his studies have enhanced his performance as a player and will set him up for success beyond his rugby league career.
This recognition highlights the Titans' dedication to supporting their players' educational pursuits and emphasizes the importance of balancing academics and athletics.
