The Gold Coast Titans have announced that Dean Ieremia is receiving a second chance in the NRL, securing a development contract for 2026.
The former Melbourne Storm back was not extended a new contract by his previous team after spending the entire year sidelined due to injury.
This situation is not unfamiliar for Ieremia, as his promising career has faced significant setbacks recently.
"I've really loved the club and the boys here and am really excited for this new journey at the Titans," he expressed in a club statement announcing his signing.
"The new environment has been an awakening to get out of my comfort zone."
"I was a local boy in Melbourne who just wanted to be comfortable, but it's been good being in unknown waters. I want to leap into the water ahead instead of just dipping my toes in."
"It's going to be a long journey, but I'm willing to put in the hard yards and be the player the boys want to play with."
Now at 24 years old, Ieremia will add depth to the Titans' outside backs as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The club is currently facing challenges in that area as they approach 2026.
Reports suggest that Siale Faeamani is set to start alongside Jojo Fifita in Round 1, while Max Feagai and Phillip Sami are expected to form the centre pairing.
