Titans Rally to Defeat Dragons 22-14

Dragons fall to Titans on Gold Coast

The St George Illawarra Dragons suffered a setback against the Titans, losing 22-14 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

The Dragons initially held a 14-6 advantage early into the second half, but Titans backrower Arama Hau turned the match around with two crucial tries.

Hau broke through on the right flank for a try in the 48th minute and again in the 75th minute, securing the Titans' first victory of the season.

This marks the fourth time in 2023 that the Dragons have surrendered a lead, as they also started the season with four consecutive losses for the first time since 2020.

Although the Dragons controlled early possession, they failed to capitalize on their opportunities effectively.

Tyrell Sloan, making his season debut, quickly made an impact by scoring in the fourth minute after a smooth passing play to the right.

After a dropped ball by Keano Kini gave them a chance in the red zone, the Dragons seized the moment, with Valentine Holmes converting to give them a 6-0 lead.
