Titans Pursue Bellamy After Hiring Hannay

The Gold Coast Titans have recently appointed Josh Hannay as their new coach after parting ways with Des Hasler. However, the club is not halting its coaching search.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph, the Titans are still eager to bring Melbourne Storm's Craig Bellamy on board, despite Hannay not yet officially starting his role.

Sources indicate that Hannay, who will succeed Hasler in 2026, is aware of the Titans' ambition to secure Bellamy after his Melbourne contract ends post-2026.

Even though the Titans are committed to Hannay's three-year deal, there are indications that the club would elevate Bellamy to head coach if they manage to recruit the accomplished coach starting in 2027.

Currently overseas, Hannay has refuted rumors suggesting a clause in his contract that would lower him to Bellamy's assistant should the esteemed coach join the team.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell emphasized the confidentiality of employment agreements but expressed confidence in both coaches' qualifications. "We're very excited to have Josh joining us as head coach from 2026," Mitchell shared with AAP.
