Canadian International Megan Pakulis will not play for the Titans in their NRLW pre-season trial against the Cowboys due to back soreness, as reported by titans.com.au.

This match, which is part of the annual clash for the Brittany Breayley-Nati - Jenni-Sue Hoepper shield, marks Gold Coast's first game of the year and features one substitution with Pakulis exiting the lineup.

The Titans will showcase eight uncapped players during the match, giving them a chance to impress coach Karyn Murphy.

New recruits including Pauline Piliae-Rasabale, Natasha Penitani, and Jasmine Fogavini are among those making their debut.

In addition to Pakulis, regular playmaker Lauren Brown will also be sidelined as she has been rested following a strong performance in the Origin campaign.

Other players out due to pre-season injuries include Sarina Masaga, Laikha Clarke, Lily Kolc, and Niall Williams-Guthrie.

Queensland Under 19 players Takoda Thompson and Phoenix-Raine Hippi will also miss the trial after participating in an interstate game on the Sunshine Coast earlier in the week.

The match is set to kick off at 3pm at the Piggabeen Sports Complex in Tweed Heads.
