As the Gold Coast Titans prepare for the 2027 season, significant roster changes have been announced, with five players confirmed to depart the club.
Joining Phillip Sami and Jaimin Jolliffe in leaving are Sam Verrills, Allan Fitzgibbon, and Tukimihia Simpkins. Their exit was officially announced on Friday.
While these players will part ways with the Titans at the end of the season, they currently have not secured new positions for 2027.
Sam Verrills, with 68 NRL appearances, is the most recognized among the players departing. Reports suggest he has been in discussions with various clubs but has yet to finalize a new contract.
He was previously linked to the Canterbury Bulldogs, although they may now be focused on signing Freddy Lussick instead.
Fitzgibbon and Simpkins, both of whom were signed in 2025, will be leaving uncertain about their future prospects in the NRL or Super League.
Steve Mitchell, the Titans' CEO, expressed gratitude towards the departing players, stating, "On behalf of everyone at the Gold Coast Titans, I'd like to sincerely thank these five men for their service and contribution to the club over their respective years."
He acknowledged their significant roles in the organization and wished them success in their future endeavors, emphasizing their importance as part of the Titans' legacy.
With these adjustments, the Titans now have only one player left off-contract at the end of the 2026 season: Jett Liu.
