Titans Commit to Hannay, Bellamy's Future Uncertain

Titans all in on Hannay as Bellamy puts call on hold

Gold Coast has reaffirmed its commitment to Josh Hannay as the head coach for the upcoming three years, officially ending their pursuit of Craig Bellamy for the 2027 coaching role.

This decision follows a report from AAP, which indicated that Gold Coast had previously kept the option open for Bellamy to take over in 2027, as part of an arrangement with Hannay.

Such an arrangement was influenced by Bellamy's eventual plan to relocate to the Gold Coast after his tenure with the Storm, coinciding with his daughter's residence in the area.

Titans officials aimed to have clarity from Bellamy by early next month regarding his interest in the position, ensuring Hannay has certainty ahead of his first pre-season.

However, Bellamy recently informed the club that he wouldn't be making a decision in the near future, effectively closing the door on the opportunity.

"We make no apologies for pursuing the best. That's what ambitious and successful organisations do," stated Titans chair Dennis Watt. "Craig Bellamy's legacy in the game speaks for itself. His interest in returning to Queensland is well known."
