The Gold Coast Titans are facing a coaching dilemma as Des Hasler's position comes under scrutiny.
Reports indicate that he may either retire at the end of the season or be dismissed, given the Titans' current standing at the bottom of the NRL ladder.
Hasler, who has celebrated significant successes, including two premierships with the Sea Eagles in 2008 and 2011, has struggled to replicate that success with the Titans.
As the team has only secured four wins this season, there's speculation that Hasler could be sacked if they lose again, which would eliminate them from finals contention.
Looking ahead to the 2026 NRL season, several candidates have begun to emerge for the head coaching role.
Among them, Josh Hannay, an assistant coach with the Cronulla Sharks and the Queensland Maroons, has been identified as the frontrunner.
Additionally, former Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur has also been mentioned as a potential replacement.
The situation remains fluid, with the Titans needing to solidify their direction to ensure a successful future.
