Gold Coast Titans coach Josh Hannay remains composed despite the team's disheartening 40-point defeat as they kick off their 2026 season.
With optimistic hopes riding high after consecutive pre-season wins, the Titans' performance fell short, allowing two tries within the first ten minutes and an additional seven throughout the match.
"You've got to look at it and you've got to address what went wrong. I'm not one to dwell so I won't dwell on it but you also can't ignore it," Hannay remarked following his debut as the Titans' head coach.
He emphasized the importance of learning from the experience, stating, "We've got to take the lessons and there are some really good lessons here tonight for us. We'll definitely go through it, take out of it what we have to and respond."
As the team faces a challenging reality, Hannay advocates for a proactive approach while acknowledging the need for improvement moving forward.
His focus will be on identifying key areas for growth to turn this setback into a foundation for future success.
