Jacob Alick-Wiencke, a former Gold Coast Titans forward, has officially signed with a new team for the upcoming season. He was one of eight players farewelled at the Titans' end-of-season awards night.
Alick-Wiencke has a distinguished international career, representing Papua New Guinea ten times. Over the past three seasons with the Titans, he participated in 19 matches, with eight of those occurring during the 2025 season.
While he spent most of his time in the QLD Cup, Alick-Wiencke remained a regular member of the Kumuls on the international front. He has now secured a three-year contract with the Leigh Leopards in the Super League, which will keep him with the team until the end of 2028.
This signing follows the unsuccessful medical examination of former Manly Sea Eagles player Ben Condon, who had agreed to join the Leopards but could not proceed.
"I've been watching how the boys have gone these past few weeks and I'm excited to be joining the Leopards," Alick-Wiencke stated. "I'm close mates with 'Lokie' and have been talking to him for the past two months. I've watched the past few games and it's amazing to see the packed crowds and the atmosphere at the games."
He added, "This is a great opportunity for me to progress my career and move up to the next stage."
