Titans Response as Captain Tino Explores Future

Gold Coast captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui is planning to speak with the Perth Bears during the offseason while preparing to test the market.

Titans chairman Dennis Watt has expressed the club's commitment to retaining the dynamic Test and Queensland prop.

According to Tino's manager, Simon Mammino, "ideally he wants to stay at the Titans and help take the club to a premiership," but ongoing uncertainties regarding the coaching future of Des Hasler and the club's overall direction have prompted him to explore other opportunities.

Mal Meninga, the coach for the Perth Bears and former head of performance and culture at the Titans, played a significant role in Tino's decision to join the Gold Coast from Melbourne in 2021. Additionally, former Titans recruitment boss Ezra Howe, who now holds the same position at Perth, has also been influential in the situation.

Mammino stated, "We will have a look around (on November 1), but that's because we don't really know what's going on at the club at the moment. Tino would probably prefer to stay. We just want to see some decisions made that the club is stable."
