Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, the Maroons enforcer, has dismissed the notion of being Queensland's "number one villain" as he prepares for his Origin return.

After missing last year's series due to an ACL injury, Fa'asuamaleaui is back in Billy Slater's lineup, where fans expect him to confront the Blues aggressively after Queensland's struggles against the NSW pack last year.

While determined to showcase his trademark "hard football," Fa'asuamaleaui downplayed his villain reputation, emphasizing a focus on performance.

His return has been notable, marked by impressive form in his first year back post-injury.

However, he reflected on the challenging times he faced while sidelined, expressing doubt about returning to the field.

He credits his family for their support during those moments.

Fa'asuamaleaui also expressed admiration for his Gold Coast teammate Beau Fermor, who is also recovering from an ACL injury and missed the entire 2023 season.

After a long wait, Fa'asuamaleaui received the call from Slater to join the team, where he will play alongside fellow Titan Moeaki Fotuaika.
