Charlie Staines, a winger for the Wests Tigers and a premiership-winner with the Penrith Panthers, has made a name for himself in a relatively brief career.

Although he hasn't secured the consistent first-grade position he desired at the Tigers, Staines is eager to embrace that opportunity at his next team as he prepares for a move in 2026.

He will be joining the Catalans Dragons, where he is set to play for the next two seasons.

Staines expressed his enthusiasm about joining the French club, with aspirations of contributing to its success.

"It's certainly an exciting development for myself and the family," Staines said in a statement. "Speaking to the Catalan manager and coach, I believe they are working towards setting the club up for a better future, and I am excited about being a key part of it.

"I look forward to taking on this new challenge with the Catalans Dragons."
