Tigers Target Another Young Second-Rower

The Wests Tigers are gearing up to secure another young talent in the second-row position, following their recent acquisition of Mavrik Geyer from the Penrith Panthers.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Sydney Roosters have made the tough decision to release one of their promising young players due to a crowded back-row situation.

The Tigers have swiftly taken advantage of this opportunity, reaching a verbal agreement with 20-year-old forward Ethan Roberts.

Roberts is set to join the club on a two-year deal starting in 2026, aiming to establish himself as a regular first-grader under the guidance of Benji Marshall.

During his stint with the Roosters this year, he played in 12 NSW Cup games, where his performance caught the attention of scouts, particularly his attacking prowess, as he scored two tries in those appearances.

At the Tigers, he will compete for a back-row position alongside new recruits Geyer and Kai Pearce-Paul, as well as existing second-rowers Samuela Fainu and Alex Seyfarth.
