Tigers Tame Galvin's Noise, Focus on Future

‘Slow the noise’: Tigers move on from Galvin chaos

Two weeks after Lachlan Galvin's announcement that he intends to leave the West Tigers, coach Benji Marshall reports a decrease in distractions, allowing the team to concentrate on their performance.

Galvin was dropped to the NSW Cup following his management's notice that he would exit after his contract ends in 2026.

However, he returned to the NRL side last week, contributing to a thrilling golden-point victory over Cronulla, bringing the Tigers to a 4-4 record.

They are now preparing for a crucial Magic Round match against St George Illawarra on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.

Marshall has noted a growing "connection" within the team, especially evident in their resolve during the final moments of the game against the Sharks.

This is a positive shift, dispelling concerns about potential rifts between Galvin and senior players.

After a productive week, Marshall emphasizes the importance of maintaining focus on football to capitalize on their momentum.

He stated, "There are a lot of instances where we could have lost that game and for the boys to be able to fight together and get out of that with the win is big for us."
