LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Wests Tigers' Jersey Flegg Cup team suffered a 44-18 defeat against Melbourne in Round 3.

Despite a strong effort from Tigers winger Jack Piccirilli, who ran 90m to score a try and keep his team in the contest, Melbourne took control early with a 10-0 lead.

The Storm's dominance continued with a flurry of tries, giving them a commanding 28-6 lead at half-time.

Although Wests Tigers managed to score a couple of tries through Piccirilli and Lachlan Broederlow, Melbourne ultimately sealed the victory with a final scoreline of 44-18.

Josese Lanyon's efforts to set up Piccirilli for a second try and Levi Conti's grubber kick leading to Broederlow's try were highlights for the Tigers, but they were unable to overcome the Storm's strong performance.

The loss leaves the Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg team with areas to improve upon moving forward in the competition.
