The Wests Tigers are reportedly preparing a lucrative $5 million long-term deal to keep teenage sensation Lachlan Galvin at the club, as a rival NRL team has dropped out of the race.

Galvin has impressed as one of the best rookies in the NRL, standing out for the Tigers over the past two seasons as they work to rebuild.

In just 26 first-grade matches, Galvin has shown he is a future star, earning praise from NRL icons Andrew Johns and Phil Gould.

After CEO Shane Richardson hinted at contract extension negotiations in November, reports suggest a new deal for Galvin could be on the horizon.

Initially linked to the Parramatta Eels as a potential replacement for Dylan Brown, Galvin was expected to explore his options starting November 1.

This potential deal showcases the Tigers' commitment to securing the young talent and continuing their rebuild process under the guidance of Benji Marshall.
