In Round 18 of the NRL, the Wests Tigers delivered a remarkable performance, securing a 30-28 upset victory over the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
With a standout display from five-eighth Adam Doueihi and notable contributions from the Fainu brothers-who each scored a try, a first in NRL history-the Tigers stunned their opponents early on.
The game started strong for the Tigers, who scored their opening try in the 9th minute when Charlie Staines capitalized on a brilliant offload from Starford To'a.
Following a successful penalty goal from Doueihi, Latu Fainu seized on a dropped ball by Roosters halfback Hugo Savala, sprinting 50 meters to extend their lead to 14-0.
Showing no signs of slowing, the Tigers struck again in the 29th minute with Sione Fainu powering over from close range, courtesy of a clever pass from Tristan Hope, pushing the score to 20-0.
Although the Tigers dominated the first half and looked confident, the Roosters fought back with two quick tries just before the break, scored by Daniel Tupou and Mark Nawaqanitawase, closing the gap to 20-10 by halftime.
This game marked a significant victory for the Tigers, showcasing their resilience and skill against a strong opponent.
