In a bold move reminiscent of a clutch play on the field, Wests Tigers forward Fonua Pole has decided to stick with his squad, rejecting advances from a rival club looking to steal him away from the Concord headquarters.
Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that despite already finalizing their Top 30 roster for the upcoming season with new recruits like Jack Bird, Jarome Luai, Jeral Skelton, Sunia Turuva, Terrell May, and Royce Hunt, the Tigers are now focusing on securing the futures of players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of 2025.
With Adam Doueihi, U19s NSW Blues representatives Josh Feledy and Justin Matamua, and seasoned veteran Brent Naden among those currently off-contract, the Tigers are facing some key decisions.
However, they have managed to retain one of their brightest young talents, Fonua Pole, despite him being courted by other clubs in recent weeks.
In a move that could be likened to a perfectly executed tackle or an elusive sidestep, Fonua Pole has signed on for an additional two years, committing to the Tigers until 2027.
This decision sees him turning down interest from the Melbourne Storm, showcasing his loyalty to the Tigers and the strong bond within the team.
