The Wests Tigers have announced the appointment of Matthew Betsey as Interim Head of Football for the 2024 NRL squad as they continue to assemble for pre-season training.
According to weststigers.com.au, the final appointment for this position is on hold until the completion of the Holman Barnes Group Review, with no fixed timeline for its conclusion.
Betsey, who brings a wealth of sports administration experience, will immediately step into the role to provide leadership for the Football Department ahead of the 2024 Season.
He initially joined Wests Tigers as Head of Pathways in 2021 after more than a decade in coaching and development at Cricket Australia.
His role expanded last year to include the Wests Tigers Women's program, where he played a crucial role in the club's NRLW License approval and subsequent inaugural season in the Telstra Women's Premiership.
The NRL squad is currently two weeks into pre-season training, with several senior players joining the group on Monday.
