The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs faced a defeat against the Wests Tigers, losing 28-14 in challenging weather conditions at CommBank Stadium, as reported by bulldogs.com.au.
Before the match even began, the atmosphere was electric, with a rousing Bulldogs chant resonating throughout the stadium as Cameron Ciraldo's team took the field. Shortly after kickoff, the Bulldogs capitalized on a Tigers error with a knock-on in the opening tackle. Enari Tuala swiftly seized the opportunity, setting up the Bulldogs in a favorable position.
Despite applying pressure on the Tigers' defensive line and crossing it twice, the Bulldogs were denied both tries. Captain Stephen Crichton was unable to secure a try just a minute into the game, as the bunker ruled he was held up. Tuala also had a potential try called back due to a forward pass from Jacob Kiraz.
The Tigers then gained momentum, aided by an off-side penalty, and soon scored their first try when Jeral Skelton crossed the line in the 13th minute. Just five minutes later, Adam Doueihi, who was a late addition to the halfback position, helped set up a second try for Jahream Bula after a 95-metre run.
The Tigers continued to assert their dominance, extending their lead to 14-0 when Api Koroisau executed a grubber kick for Skelton to score again. Shortly after, another try was added to the Tigers' tally when Doueihi capitalized on a loose ball, sprinting 85 metres to score and successfully converting his own try.
