In a hard-fought match, the Wests Tigers suffered a narrow 22-18 loss to the Brisbane Broncos in Round 8 of the NRLW.

According to a report on the Wests Tigers website, the Broncos mounted continuous sets on the Tigers' line, putting immense pressure on their defense.

However, the home side showed great resilience and managed to withstand the onslaught, only conceding a try to Jakiya Whitfeld just before halftime.

This left the Tigers trailing 6-4 at the break.

The Tigers started the second half with momentum on their side.

A brilliant 60-meter break by Rikeya Horne set up Kezie Apps for their first try of the half, extending their lead to 16-6.

Not long after, Salma Nour darted over from dummy half to further increase their advantage.

However, despite having a player sent to the sin bin, the Broncos fought back and managed to score three consecutive tries.

Brianna Clark found the line for the first of these tries, capitalizing on a gap created by the Tigers' defense.

Destiny Brill, the Broncos' dummy half, then leveled the contest from close range.

Finally, a right edge shift to Shenae Ciesiolka sealed the Tigers' fate, resulting in their 22-18 defeat.

The Wests Tigers will now return home to Campbelltown Stadium for their final match of the 2023 NRLW season against the Newcastle Knights next Thursday.
