The Panther's New Fullback: Pawsitively a Win?

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Penrith Panthers have secured an exciting talent in Jaxen Edgar, signing him on a long-term contract until 2026.

According to zerotackle.com, Edgar was honored as the 2023 NSWRL Harold Matthews Player of the Year and has already showcased his skills on an international stage as part of the Australian Schoolboys team.

With his exceptional potential, it seems likely that he will eventually take over the fullback position from Dylan Edwards, who has been a key player for the Panthers.

Edgar's appointment is a strategic move by the club to ensure they have strong depth in the fullback position, especially after the departure of Liam Ison to the Cronulla Sharks.

Growing up as a passionate supporter of the Panthers, Edgar has been training alongside Edwards and keeping a close eye on his idol.

Coming from the revered St Dominic's College, Edgar brings with him a strong rugby league background and is poised to become a future star of the game.
