The North Queensland Cowboys have solidified their longstanding partnership with Kirwan State High School, committing to an additional three years of collaboration.
This renewed agreement, set to extend until 2026, marks the 12th consecutive year of a fruitful alliance that has already fostered numerous NRL stars.
Notably, the partnership will for the first time encompass Kirwan SHS' female rugby league program, highlighting the increasing recognition of women's rugby in the sport.
Kirwan SHS joins an elite group of six schools boasting development partnership agreements with the Cowboys, where Ignatius Park College, Trinity Bay State High School, St Augustine's College, St Patrick's College, and The Cathedral College are also included.
It comes as no surprise that Kirwan SHS has been the preferred educational institution for Cowboys stars such as Jason Taumalolo and Aaron Payne, both esteemed members of the club's history.
The current Cowboys NRL squad proudly boasts four alumni from Kirwan, including the powerhouse Taumalolo.
This extended partnership guarantees that Kirwan SHS players and coaches will continue to avail themselves of the development opportunities afforded by the Cowboys, solidifying the school's status as a rugby league powerhouse.
