Perfect Tedesco Kicks Clear as Gutherson Joins Top 10: Zero Tackle's NRL MVP, Round 23
In the latest standings for Zero Tackle's NRL MVP for 2025, only three players remain in contention for the top position. James Tedesco achieved a perfect score of 20 votes in Round 23, significantly enhancing his lead.
This flawless score came as the Roosters triumphed with over 60 points against the Dolphins in Brisbane on Saturday evening, allowing Tedesco to move 25 votes ahead of Terrell May, who remains in second place despite the Wests Tigers having a bye this weekend.
To have a chance at dethroning Tedesco for the top spot by the end of the regular season, players must be within 80 votes (or 60 if their club has a bye). With only four weeks left, the competition is tight.
Further down the leaderboard, Herbie Farnworth is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season, trailing 47 votes behind. Addin Fonua-Blake lingers 70 votes off the leader but still has a bye game left to play. Meanwhile, Connor Tracey stands 75 votes back and, like Farnworth, is injured, making a return unlikely this season.
St George Illawarra Dragons' fullback Clint Gutherson has made a notable comeback, re-entering sixth place following his perfect 20 votes. Gutherson is now 76 votes behind Tedesco and is the last player with a viable chance for the overall prize. However, he would need to secure perfect scores over the final four weeks while Tedesco could score no more than four combined votes as the Roosters aim for a finals spot.
