The Brisbane Broncos have been hitting the ground running in pre-season training, with newcomers Reece Walsh and Payne Haas leading the charge.
It seems that the arrival of coach Michael Maguire is already making a difference, as Jesse Arthars has revealed that the culture shift under Maguire is starting to show results.
After a disappointing season following their grand final appearance, the Broncos have been in need of a shake-up.
Maguire has been brought in to change the attitudes and work ethic that had become lacking in the team.
And it seems that Walsh and Haas are setting the tone for the rest of the squad with their dedication and hard work.
Walsh, in particular, has been standing out in training sessions, showing that he is committed to improving under Maguire's guidance.
Despite recovering from knee surgery in the off-season, Haas has been pushing himself to impress the new coach.
"Payne is always putting in the effort, even with his injury concerns.
And Reece has been giving it his all as well.
The whole team is stepping up and showing that they are ready to work hard," Arthars commented.
The Broncos are looking to bounce back from a disappointing season, and with the likes of Walsh and Haas leading the way, they seem to be on the right track under Maguire's leadership.
It's early days, but the signs are promising for the Brisbane outfit as they aim to climb back up the ladder.
