Te Maire Martin, the New Zealand Warriors halfback, faces a 12-week absence due to a fibula fracture in his right leg.
The injury occurred during the Māori-Indigenous All Stars match at FMG Stadium in Hamilton on Sunday.
In the 25th minute, a tackle involving Indigenous winger Josh Addo-Carr led to a collision with Māori player Briton Nikora, injuring Martin.
Martin is scheduled for surgery, with hopes to return by round 11 or 12 of the NRL season.
This isn't his first injury; he previously fractured the fibula in his left leg earlier this season against the Newcastle Knights.
On another note, Indigenous winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira is undergoing concussion protocols after a head injury sustained in the match.
However, fullback Taine Tuaupiki is back after a leg injury and will play in the upcoming Preseason Challenge against the Dolphins.
Meanwhile, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Chanel Harris-Tavita, and Marata Niukore remain sidelined but are expected to return for the Warriors' first match against the Sydney Roosters on March 6.
