NRLW superstar Tamika Upton, known for her gritty performances and lightning-fast footwork, has officially announced her new club after parting ways with the Newcastle Knights NRLW team.
Despite interest from rival squads like the Gold Coast Titans NRLW and North Queensland Cowboys NRLW, Upton, a seasoned veteran with a trophy cabinet full of NRLW titles and individual accolades, has opted to make a triumphant return to her roots with the Brisbane Broncos NRLW.
Her decision to return to the Broncos, the powerhouse of the NRLW competition, marks a homecoming of sorts for Upton, who had previously led the team to back-to-back premierships in 2019 and 2020 before embarking on a new chapter with the Knights.
A true champion of the game, Upton's impressive resume also includes consecutive Karyn Murphy medals for her standout performances in NRLW Grand Finals, as well as representing the Queensland Maroons and the Australian Jillaroos on the international stage.
"I can't wait to reunite with my original squad and be back where it all began.
It's like coming home after a long journey," Upton expressed in a heartfelt statement, highlighting her enthusiasm for the next chapter of her career with the Broncos.
