Ben Talty, recently spotlighted by broncos.com.au, was immersed in the New South Wales Cup just a few months ago, unaware of the significant changes that awaited him in the remainder of the 2025 season.
At 26, Talty secured a train and trial deal with the Broncos in Round 15. In an astonishing turn of events, he made his NRL debut just weeks later against the Bulldogs.
This rapid ascent for the middle forward was unexpected, as he once believed his NRL aspirations were slipping away.
Now, after nine games in first-grade rugby, Talty has received a two-year contract extension with the top 30 squad, ensuring his place through to 2027.
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity.
A product of the Knights junior program, Talty has played over 85 New South Wales Cup games for both Newcastle and the North Sydney Bears.
