The latest news from the Rugby League world sees Broncos legend Gorden Tallis giving new coach Michael Maguire the cold shoulder during a recent encounter.
Tallis, known for his no-nonsense approach, reportedly turned down a chance to reconcile with Maguire, adding another twist to their ongoing feud.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the awkward run-in occurred during the Storm and Panthers grand final, creating a tense moment between the two.
Tallis recounted Maguire's attempt at peace, saying, "He said, 'G'day mate,' and shook my hand and he said, 'We should catch up for a coffee.' I told him, 'I don't drink coffee.'"
In true footy fashion, Tallis made it clear that he doesn't feel the need to be buddy-buddy with any coach, citing past examples like Kevin Walters, Des Hasler, and Justin Holbrook.
With a sporting analogy or two, Tallis's refusal to bury the hatchet adds another layer of drama to the Rugby League scene.
