'Unbelievable, mate': Tago prepping for third shot at the big dance

Izack Tago, who has been raking in big bucks as one of the top centres this season, is set to strut his stuff in his third NRL Grand Final this Sunday, but the 22-year-old is still pinching himself at how far he's come.

A proud St Mary's Saints junior, Tago has blossomed into one of the club's top outside backs since bursting onto the scene in 2021, but it hasn't all been smooth sailing.

Tipped as a potential State of Origin debutant for the NSW Blues earlier this season, Tago hit a rough patch that had some calling for him to be demoted to the NSW Cup competition.

However, Ivan Cleary never lost faith in Tago, keeping him in the mix and the youngster has since shone bright, emerging as one of the standout performers in recent times.

The gutsy centre even reckons he's hit his peak form just in time for the 2024 NRL Grand Final showdown against the mighty Melbourne Storm.
