In a classic move reminiscent of a half-time pep talk, Dolphins and Queensland State of Origin dynamo Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has emphatically shut down any talk of a return to the North Queensland Cowboys.
The speedster, who dons the fullback jersey for the Dolphins but shifts to the centre spot on the representative stage, has been a shining beacon of consistency since joining the club for their maiden voyage into the league.
Known to fans as "The Hammer," Tabuai-Fidow now finds himself in a pivotal role as the Dolphins navigate the uncharted waters of a coaching change, waving goodbye to the Wayne Bennett era and welcoming Kristian Woolf as the new skipper of the ship.
Amidst whispers of a possible comeback to his former stomping grounds up in Townsville, the Hammer swiftly put those rumors to rest in true captain's fashion.
"I saw that stuff as well," Tabuai-Fidow shared with News Corp, putting an end to any speculation of a shock switch at the close of last season.
