Mark Nawaqanitawase set a finals record with 329 metres in Sydney Roosters' preliminary-final win on Friday.
The 26-year-old also made five tackle breaks, scored twice and created Robert Toia's crucial try with an acrobatic pass after intercepting the ball and racing downfield.
His NRL career is nearing a pause: he has only the grand final left before joining Japan's Saitama Wild Knights on a two-year deal in December.
That commitment makes a World Cup campaign unlikely, but Cameron Munster made a public appeal on Nine's post-match broadcast for him to reconsider.
"Hopefully you've got your phone on you after the grand final, because I can guarantee you right now that Kevvie [Walters] gonna be giving you a call - I know you've got Japan rugby after this," Munster said.
The former Kangaroos teammates toured together during last year's Ashes series.
Nawaqanitawase, who switched from rugby union two seasons ago, credited Bondi's team environment and the shared premiership goal.
"I just wanna do my job for my team," he said.
"There's not many weeks left, so I come out here wanting to do everything I can for the team and if anything else happens, we're lucky."
