Mark Nawaqanitawase has become only the second Roosters first-grader to score at least 20 tries in consecutive seasons across the club's 118-year history.
The 2025 Ken Irvine Medal winner reached the mark during Sydney's 36-20 preliminary-final victory over the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium.
The previous Roosters player to achieve the feat did so in 1935 and 1936.
Nawaqanitawase opened the scoring in the 17th minute, intercepting Herbie Farnworth's pass as Selwyn Cobbo threatened to score, then racing the length of the field.
He finished with two tries, assisted Robert Toia's try, made four tackle breaks and claimed another intercept late in the match.
Official NRL statistics credited him with 28 runs for 343 metres, including 80 metres after contact.
Supported by returning halfback Sam Walker, he helped the Roosters reach their first grand final since 2019.
The 26-year-old will play next weekend's decider against Penrith or Newcastle before joining the NSW Waratahs in Super Rugby alongside Roosters assistant Michael Cheika.
His longer-term goal is to earn a Wallabies jersey for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
With Reuben Garrick set to join the Sea Eagles, the Roosters will need to find a way to replace their departing winger.
