In the wake of Sunday's Round 16 triple-header, Parramatta Eels players Will Penisini and Ryley Smith, along with North Queensland Cowboys utility Karl Lawton, are facing potential suspensions.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, both Penisini and Smith were charged for separate dangerous throws during their team's victory over the Gold Coast Titans.

Penisini received a yellow card for his dangerous tackle on Titans second-rower Beau Fermor in the game's closing moments, specifically the 79th minute.

As a result of this incident, he has been charged with a Grade 2 dangerous throw.

Meanwhile, Smith, who committed a dangerous throw against Phillip Sami, was permitted to continue playing but is also facing a Grade 2 charge.

Regarding their penalties, Smith, having no previous offences on his 12-month judiciary record, faces a two-match suspension if he opts for an early guilty plea.

On the other hand, Penisini, now facing his second offence, would incur a three-match suspension with the same plea.
