Jasmin Strange, a rugby player eligible to represent England, New Zealand, or Australia at the upcoming World Cup, has decided to put her hand up for England due to her family connections.
Strange's parents met in England, where her mother is from Yorkshire.
Her father, a former player for Featherstone, York, and Sheffield, began his coaching career there before moving to Australia.
Strange has played for the Māori All Stars team since 2023 and has enjoyed learning about her culture through the experience.
She explained, "It had been a great experience to learn about that side of her culture, particularly with her debut being in Rotorua." Despite her eligibility for multiple teams, Strange feels a strong connection to England through her family and has expressed her desire to represent them at the World Cup.
