Sims departs Storm

Melbourne Storm has announced today that second rower Tariq Sims will be exploring opportunities outside of the NRL in 2024.

According to melbournestorm.com.au, Sims will be departing the Storm.

Sims' impressive playing career began in 2011 when he made his debut for the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 2.

After spending four years with the Cowboys, he joined the Newcastle Knights in 2015 and then moved to the Illawarra Dragons in 2016.

Originally from Gerringong, New South Wales, the 33-year-old made the move to the Storm ahead of the 2023 season on a one-year deal.

Throughout his career, Sims has amassed an impressive 236 NRL appearances and scored 44 tries.

He has also had the honor of representing New South Wales in the State of Origin series in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, winning three out of the four series.

In addition to his representative duties for New South Wales, Sims has also represented Fiji Bati and the Country Origin side on five and six occasions, respectively.

230, expressed his emotions about leaving the club, stating that it has been an emotional time for him, but he will forever cherish his time at Melbourne Storm.
