The Storm's Harold Matthews side put on a valiant effort in front of their fervent local supporters at Seabrook Reserve, but fell agonizingly short in Round 5.
Despite a strong first half performance that saw them hold a commanding 18-10 lead, the Dragons managed to claw their way back and snatch a narrow 22-18 victory.
The Storm came out of the blocks firing, with Memphis Wallace crossing the try line in the early stages of the match, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
However, the Dragons hit back with two tries of their own, putting the Storm on the back foot.
It was Storm's halfback, Waka Hammond, who then ignited a comeback, scoring a brilliant double just moments before half-time.
The second half proved to be a hard-fought battle with both teams struggling to find points on the board.
Unfortunately, it was the Dragons who ultimately regained control and secured the win with two crucial tries.
While the Storm's Harold Matthews side may be disappointed with the result, their strong performance and passionate fanbase bode well for their future endeavors in the competition.
