Melbourne Storm's star fullback, Ryan Papenhuyzen, has been given the all-clear after concerns over his injury in the club's recent loss to the North Queensland Cowboys.
Director of football, Frank Ponissi, revealed that Papenhuyzen has only suffered some bone bruising, but his availability for the upcoming game against the Brisbane Broncos remains uncertain.
"The scans have shown that Ryan has some bone bruising.
the medical team will monitor his condition over the coming days before making a decision on his participation in the match against the Broncos next Thursday night," Ponissi stated in a club announcement regarding Papenhuyzen's injury update.
Initially, there were fears that Papenhuyzen may have sustained a more serious injury when he was forced off the field during the first half against the North Queensland Cowboys.
However, there is now optimism that his early exit was precautionary, especially considering Melbourne's decision to rest key players for the Townsville trip, coinciding with a tight schedule and their secured position on top of the ladder.
