Storm's Munster's round one dance: Injured or prance?

Melbourne Storm's star playmaker, Cameron Munster, has delivered a blow to the team by admitting that he is unlikely to take part in the club's opening game of the season due to a lingering groin injury.

This setback forced him to sit out both of the team's trial matches.

The news comes as a disappointment for the Storm, who will face off against the reigning premiers, the Penrith Panthers, in their quest for a remarkable 22nd consecutive round one victory.

This impressive record has made head coach Craig Bellamy synonymous with success in the opening round.

In response to Bellamy's statements that Munster's availability remains uncertain, the player himself addressed reporters ahead of the match, making it clear that he will only take the field if he is 80-100 percent fit.

Munster took a light-hearted approach when explaining the origin of his injury, stating, "I was looking good for the Fiji game, and then I slipped in the shower, so it wasn't ideal." Despite the frustration, Munster emphasized his commitment to rehabilitation, saying, "It's a frustrating injury, but I'm doing everything I can to get it right.

I tried to do a little bit today, but I need to be 80 to 100 percent to be able to play on Friday."
