The Melbourne Storm's U17's and U19's clashed with the Sea Eagles in Round 4 of the Junior Rep season, in what turned out to be a real David vs Goliath showdown at Casey Fields on a sunny Sunday arvo.
The young Storm's Harold Matthews squad got off to a bit of a slow start, finding themselves in a bit of a pickle as the Sea Eagles soared to a commanding 22-0 lead with a quick succession of four tries in just 13 minutes.
Despite their best efforts, the Storm lads couldn't quite bridge the gap before halftime, heading into the break with a hefty 22-point mountain to climb.
Wivenshalom Tyrell managed to salvage some pride for the Storm early in the second half, putting some points on the board.
However, try as they might, the Melbourne boys just couldn't reel in the Sea Eagles.
Looking ahead, the U17's are preparing for an epic journey across the ditch to take on the Warriors at Navigation Home Stadium in Pukekohe in Round 5.
It's sure to be a tough battle, but these young guns are ready to tackle the challenge head-on and show their true blue Aussie spirit on the field.
