The Melbourne Storm have solidified their future by retaining 2024 Dally M Medal winner Jahrome Hughes, which may lead to the exit of Jonah Pezet from the club.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, Hughes, a ten-time New Zealand international, has opted to turn down a lucrative $1.5 million offer from the Perth Bears.
Instead, he has signed a four-year contract extension with the Storm that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2030 NRL season.
This long-term commitment means Hughes will likely finish his career with the Storm, where he has already played 165 matches since joining in 2017, following previous stints with the Gold Coast Titans and North Queensland Cowboys.
In expressing his enthusiasm about the extension, Hughes stated, "I'm delighted to extend my contract with Storm for another four years.
I absolutely love this Club, it's become a second family to me, and Melbourne feels like home.
This group of players, coaches, and staff is incredibly special, and I'm determined to achieve more success in the purple jersey."
