In Melbourne Storm's Round 25 win over the St George-Illawarra Dragons, Jahrome Hughes reached a significant milestone by scoring his 50th career try.
Hughes has proven to be a formidable opponent for the Dragons, as he has managed to score a try in all six of his previous encounters with the team known as the 'Red V'.
The Storm's fullback, Nick Meaney, showcased exceptional kicking skills during the Saturday evening match.
He ended the night leading the NRL charts for the most goals this season, having accumulated a total of 82 successful kicks.
This achievement allowed Meaney to surpass Cronulla Five-eighth Nicho Hynes, who had previously held the top spot with 81 goals.
Meaney's impressive kicking performance continued over the weekend, as he accumulated a total of 204 points in the 2023 season.
This places him in second position, with only the Dolphins' Jamayne Isaako surpassing him with 220 points.
Remarkably, Meaney has managed to score points in every game he has played this season, averaging just under 8 points per game.
These statistics highlight the significant contributions of both Jahrome Hughes and Nick Meaney to the Melbourne Storm's success in Round 25.
Hughes' consistent try-scoring record against the Dragons demonstrates his ability to excel in crucial moments, while Meaney's exceptional kicking accuracy has solidified his position as a key player for the Storm.
