A Melbourne Storm legend has tackled swirling rumors head-on, denying reports that he is considering a move back to the Gold Coast as one NRL club searches high and low for a playmaker to take the lead.

According to news.com.au, the Storm's superstar halfback, Jahrome Hughes, has shut down speculations that he is eyeing a return to Queensland, affirming that Melbourne is now his home as negotiations heat up to extend his contract until 2028.

Although Hughes briefly played for the Titans in 2013, he has since blossomed into one of the finest halfbacks in the world with the Storm, with his current deal running until the end of the 2026 season.

Following his stellar performance against the Roosters where he picked up three Dally M votes, Hughes has been on fire in 2024, further solidifying his standing in the rugby league world.

While rumors swirled on Monday about Hughes' potential move back to Queensland, where his wife hails from, the player himself made it crystal clear that he sees his future firmly rooted in Melbourne.

This news may come as a blow to the Titans, who are in dire need of a top-tier halfback to rescue their team.

In response to the chatter, Hughes nonchalantly brushed off the reports, stating, "That's just rumors.

I don't know what they're talking about.

I haven't seen the story or anything, but a few boys have said something to me, and I don't know what they're talking about."
