Melbourne Storm has kicked off their latest school holiday initiative, 'Storm Waka', geared towards supporting young Pasifika individuals in Melbourne.
With the backing of the Victorian Government Department of Education, the Storm Waka program is tailored for youths aged 10-18 who hail from Pasifika heritage.
The inaugural Storm Waka program, held in January, saw 53 youngsters take part in three days of exciting activities.
The Casey Warriors Rugby League Club played host, offering top-notch facilities for meetings, meals, and of course, sports.
The program was packed with action, including a Māori haka workshop led by Nga Matai Purua, a crash course in a traditional Samoan tune, daily feasts catered by Pasifika culinary experts, and plenty of rugby league drills and matches for the participants to sink their teeth into.
