The NRL's match review committee has confirmed a single charge stemming from Thursday night's match, where the Melbourne Storm narrowly defeated the Parramatta Eels 16-10.
Despite a lackluster performance from the Storm, they were concerned about a late high tackle by second-rower Eliesa Katoa.
Although referee Gerard Sutton failed to report the incident during the game, the MRC has since issued Katoa a Grade 1 careless high tackle charge for his tackle on Eels forward Jack Williams.
As this is Katoa's first offence in the past 12 months, he faces a $1000 fine if he enters an early guilty plea; the penalty increases to $1500 if he opts to contest the charge at the judiciary.
In contrast, Parramatta's Will Penisini faced potential repercussions after being reported during the game for a dangerous tackle occurring shortly after halftime.
However, the MRC chose not to impose any charges against the Eels center, contradicting the on-field decision that led to his report.
