With the 2024 NSWRL Junior Representative season about to kick off, the Melbourne Storm's Harold Matthews and Jersey Flegg sides received a special honor last night.
The team's head coach, Craig Bellamy, alongside club legend Tawera Nikau, presented the players with their jerseys.
It was a moment of great significance, as Nikau, a key figure in the Storm's 1999 Premiership win, offered valuable advice to the young talent.
The presence of other Storm Old Boys, including Robbie Kearns and Danny Williams, added to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Notably, current squad members such as Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jonah Pezet were also there to show their support.
In an exciting development, the Storm will be fielding teams in all age groups for the first time in their history, providing a complete men's pathways system in the NSWRL competition.
The U17s and U19s will kick off their campaigns against the North Sydney Bears this Saturday, with the Harold Matthews side leading the charge at 1pm.
It's a thrilling opportunity for the young Storm players to showcase their skills and make their mark in the competition.
