Three Perfect as Storm Halves Split Top Spot: Zero Tackle's NRL Finals MVP, Week 1
In the regular season, James Tedesco emerged victorious with a remarkable margin of 60 votes. However, his performance at Sharks Stadium on Saturday night fell short as he did not receive any votes, resulting in the elimination of the Sydney Roosters.
In contrast, Sharks five-eighth Braydon Trindall achieved a perfect score, earning 20 votes with unanimous support from all four judges who deemed him best on ground. Other standout players included Reece Walsh from the Brisbane Broncos and Nathan Cleary from the Penrith Panthers, both of whom also received similar accolades for their impressive displays.
Meanwhile, in the match where the Melbourne Storm triumphed over the Canterbury Bulldogs, Jonah Pezet and Cameron Munster shared the top spot, allowing both to secure a place in the top five rankings.
Players from the Storm and Broncos will enjoy a week off, but they are assured of competing again in Week 3. With double points on offer in the grand final, they remain strong contenders for the MVP award.
Here are the votes from Week 1 of the finals.
